Weaknesses of Dana 44 and solutions.

I have a 73 power wagon with a dana 44 up front. I am starting to get worried about it though. I'm hearing that they are prone to breakage through the u joints and possibly axle shafts. This is a 3/4 ton truck 8 lug. I am running 37's so I may need to swap it out. If so what trucks should i be looking for. I would think a dana 60 but what kind of donor truck will have the same stance or axle width. I always thought these axles were strong. Any thoughts on the matter are apreciated. Also how do I post a pic of my truck on this forum or can I ????
