Looking today at the local toy store we found a 1953 Dodge that appears to be a 1 1/2 ton Van Pelt Fire Truck, which has a V-8 315 cu.in. engine that runs, and a 5 speed trans bolted to it. The owner has had it about one year. On the dash there is a plate that has the shift pattern, it shows 5 forward and 1 reverse. The #5 hole says OD. 1st gear is all the way to the right and down, 2nd falls back into the normal H pattern with 5 ending up where 4th usually is on a 4 speed trans.

Rating the truck from 1 to 10 it is an 8.5. It has the original Van Pelt Fire Bed, still has the pump underneath, speedometer says 56K miles, no rust, lime green in color, 10 hole budds
