a truck is worth what someone is willing to pay. i recently sold a fleet of delivery trucks to people on ebay. judd from the page bought one at what i thought and hopefully he thought was a good price. the sale price was way below the replacement cost or the stripped cost, but that is what i could sell the truck for. if someone pays 26.5k for the truck they see value in the truck. it might be that it is a perfect resto or that the mods will enable the owner to really enjoy it. it might be the new owner makes a lot of money & his time is better spent working than restoring. bottom line if you add up all of the part needed to do a quality restoration and start with a truck worthy of a restoration you are somewhere north of 12,000. add 1000 hours of time at $100 hour. You are at 22000. add 5000 for having a later pw with power brakes and a 251 and you are there. the numbers could be argued up or down but it feasible. just a thought- 57 chevies which are more easily restored due to availibliy of parts and the numbers they were produced in sell up to $75000. the restorations are easier on those. i think compared to a 50's car a pw at 26.k is a steal. take the above truck to a show and park it next to a 57 chevy and see what draws more interest. mannyc
