Your post sure brought back some memories.
When my brother & I were growing up in the 50's we, like most families, had a regular milkman.
One day we were walking to school when 'Norman' drove by and asked if we wanted a lift. He gave us a ride the rest of the way to school in the old 'Divco'.
Only a few blocks, but great fun riding with all the blocks of melting ice, milk, and the side door wide open.
Can you imagine something like that happening today?
