Hi guys, Just wanted to relate my recent experience shipping a W500 with Sunteck Transport. Set up the shipping for two weeks ago Friday. I was assured that the truck would be there at noon-no worries. Well the broker had a brain fart, and the truck was never ordered. Okay, a mistake was made and the broker accepted responsiblity-I can handle that. We rescheduled for Tuesday the 15th, a 6:00 pickup. Ordered a rollback to load it onto the flatbed (@$145. an hour). At 6:30 I called to see where the truck was and the broker could not tell me. 4 or 5 more phone calls later (it's now 8:00), The broker informs me that the flatbed would not be coming that evening. I have now just spent $290. for the W5 to move about 60 feet. I could not put it back into the shop I had just taken it out of because that space is now occupied by a very nice 63 W300 firetruck (see Mike Stone's post below). The W5 is now on it's way to overnight storage in Oakland for $60, and I was still uncertain that thet there would be a truck to pick it up in the morning. Well, the flatbed did arrive in the morning and pick up the W5. But I also needed the parts for it to be picked up at the shop. Needless to say, that never happened. The driver either didn't stop to pick up the parts or never got the message. In any case the broker still had not contacted me about any of this even though she had all of the phone numbers on the planet where I could be reached. So, now I m renting a storage space on the Peninsula for $130 a month. I won't be able to pick the parts up until Jan. so that works out to 390. not including gas and trailer rental to Portland. So the $500 that is was going to cost me to get the W5 up here has turned int $1240-kind of steep for 600 miles. A freind of mine that also deals with this broker for his business called her up to find out what the deal was and she claimed the whole mess was MY fault. That is a load of crap. I was ready on my end and the seller was ready on his. She dropped the ball and I had to pay for it. Sorry for the rambling post but I wanted to let you know who NOT to use. johnbird
