There is LOTS of information on 57 4wd Dodge trucks on my site.

If you have questions not answered on my site, please let me know what I can help with.

I have never heard of a factory install of a hemi in a light duty 4wd Dodge truck, but there is no reason that Dodge would not have done so if asked. If it is original, I would be very interested in hearing more details about it.

One way to check to see if the engine is original is to look at the engine section of my site:

http://townwagon.vexed.org/pgpws/pgengines/enginenumbers.htm

You will see the location of the engine number for a 315, and that is the same place for most small hemis of that era.

If you get the number, and it is a 56 or 57 date coded it might be original. If 58 or newer then it was most likely a replacement.

Eric
