I'm assuming you are referring to the steel, bell-shaped joint that connects the splined shaft of the steering box to the steering column. If so, I believe there is a retaining ring (probably like a hitch pin) that slides through a small slot in the bell fitting (near the top) and goes around the steering column. Inside the bell fitting are some steel bushings and a little metal clip thingy (anti-rattle pin). When I got my '66 W300, the steering was disconnected and the bell fitting was gone. I had a heck of a time finding out what missing pieces I needed, and then getting the pieces to hook up the steering. I still don't have all the pieces such as the clip I referred to above. I don't know why Dodge made it that way, but it sure seems funky. I was thinking of replacing it one from Borgeson or Flaming River. Good luck! John
