I'm not familiar with your states laws, but here in Alabama,vehicles were not reqired to have titles prior to 1975. So 1974 and under vehicles are not required to be registered with a title to acquire a tag, only a "BILL OF SALE".
Your tag registration acts as sort of a title.
I would assume if I moved to your state and since titles were not require on new vehicles
until 1975 in Alabama, they would have to let me register my 1964 WM300 PW using the current Alabama tag registration receipt?
I once asked about getting a title for my truck at the Ala. DOT and county courthouse but was told if it never had a title to start with.they could not fabricate one for it. Go figure? So maybe you could get someone to register it in their name in Ala. then write you a "bill of sale" then send you the tag and registration receipt?
