I recently put a 350 chevy in my 46wdx to replace a 283 that had been in place for the last 30 years. You might consider this option since you already have mounts that work. The purists will condem this but it's your truck. The switch for me was very easy. My 350 has a RV cam for extra torque, and a few additional add ons to bring the hp to about 350 hp. I find this has plenty of power with easy access to parts. Good Luck Alan
