I'm rebuilding a 49 B1 and wonder about the pros and cons of replacing the (completely shot, rusted, worthless) 230 with a 251. Other than it being not correct for the year, are there any other reasons not to do this? Are there any compelling reasons TO do it? Is there really much of a real increase in useable power/speed, etc. with a 251? When I had my M37 I spent a lot on 4.89's for it, and really couldn't tell much of a difference, and wonder if the 251 would give about the same amount of "benefit" over staying stock.
Also, is a simple matter to alter the grill for the bigger motor? Engine mounts a problem?
