I am seriously thinking of buying a new 2003
Dodge 2500 4x4, Cummins with a 5 or 6 speed. Or a new left over 2002. After reading these posts, I am getting shaky and jerky. I plan to keep the new truck for many a long mile. Are these failures considerd normal or rare ? Do the Chevys and Fords suffer expensive failures like these on their diesel line. From what I am reading it appears that just about when the warantee is finished the Huge Expensive repairs start. Would this justify a long term extended warantee.....like equal to the 100K mile from Cummins ? Mabey I am better off with my Dodge 4x4 V10 gas hog ?????
