I have a 99 Dodge Diesel 5 Speed with 72000 MI. The first lift pump was just replaced a month ago. Supposedly the new lift pumps are more reliable. If you do purchase the truck the first thing I would do is install a fuel pressure guage. I put in 2, before and after the fuel filter. I have not had any trans troubles yet but from what I hear 5th gear goes away somewhere between 75,000 and 100,000 miles. As far as the "death wobble" I understand it is from either a worn track bar or worn ball joints. If they would install grease fittings in these joints! My biggest problem has been the dealer. They don't have anybody that can diagnose diesel problems. If you want more info I suggest you look up Turbodieselregister.com and go through the forums. They were a lot of help to me.
