Hi guys,
I've just gone through a series of mysterious infections starting with a puncture wound I got in May. When I went to get it treated at the local rapid care clinic they told me they couldn't give a tetanus booster because of a low supply and just gave antibiotics to fight the infection. It had been 6 years since my last tetanus shot. After that first one, every time I got cut, it became infected, no matter how meticulous I was about cleaning it. After the fourth infection, I'd had enough, and went to see my family doctor who gave another tetanus shot. That's where it stands right now. I got the shot two days ago lets hope it does its job.
Guys, I urge you to take your tetanus boosters. Every 5 years if they'll give them to you. Beware of mysterious infections. Tetanus travels in the bloodstream an is not readily detectable with a blood test so it can be sneaky. If you want to learn more go to WebMD.com. Undoubtedly if you're working on old trucks you're working around rust so be careful.
Be safe, stay well.
Brett
