Have a w100 77 short wheel base 360 with the factory wagon wheels and 31,s. Constructed a set of 9x20 wheels out of m35 centers to run 8.25 mudgrips. It was the walkout difference between tires. Then i got real greedy, i bought new a set of 1 ton crew cab springs and extra long u bolts, that gave me plenty of room and clearance. Then got 9x20 mud tractions and got about 41 inch skinnys under the truck, it had just enough footprint if u lowerer air psi down to go thru bog most of the time, never beleive the forum naysayers, texas top truck runs 44 dana with his boggers with the same rear end 44 and has no problem, it just a chatroom lie! I worked in a dodge dealership and i never saw any such complaint, prob started with a wormy kid who put lift kit on truck with bad ball joints and started jumpin it off ramps. I used to think maybe the 9x20 would crater it but 25,000 miles no dice, it still as solid as when i had shorty golf cart rubber on it. Good luck with your w100, they are making asjustable spring shackles on Bills offroad dodge site, ever see his site or shaggys? Features a 78 flexy w100 with the rumor!
