how to build a mud/bog pit for stocktype tuks?

Ok, here is the deal, i have a farm, a D8 cat, and plenty of room, a water well nearby, and some time/diesel fuel. How wide should the pit be? How long should the pit be? How deep so to be fair for regular street driven/ranch type trucks? I do not want something to deep or to easy either. Do you add the exavated dirt back and water it? Some pits are constructed differently and would like opipions from any users, what are the gripes, dislikes, should i have a big pump to wash down the trucks between rounds? Where do you get plans, insurance etc?
