if you don't load a 4x4 will do as good as a 6x6. most important are diff locks for axels and tf case. i've seen many unusual constructions like wedges between tyres or single handbrake for each side working as a difflock. try to get the most agricultural-tractor-tyre like profile it will make a lot of difference as well
