A close friend has one and it is as stiff as a board and would be a good candidate for a shop-built swivel frame. Friend put in a ind-318 after the pile of s--t died and while he was at it he got the power steering off a Wagoneer and it drives like a dream. A locker is necessary as running over a cow pie will cause the opposite wheel to come off the ground. They were so unreliable in Viet Nam that they never left the secure areas cause they would without fail leave you stranded. Out in the toolies we were able to get new M-37's.
