I live in the Adirondack Mountains. The nearest stop sign is 15 miles away + when travelin east to our beautiful, friendly, clean almost crime free city of Plattsburgh NY the first traffic lite is 21 miles away east bound + 26 miles away west bound in the village of saranac Lake.Up here in these parts everyone knows everyone we look out for the townspeople + try to help the elderly + sickly as much as we can.We dont lock our homes or most of the time even take the keys out of our vehicles. Most people out in the country have acres of land + tend to keep their property neat + orderly.I own 26 acres borderin a state hiway + my home ,repair shop + outbuildings sit way back off the road on a rise with a long gravel driveway. Down at the hiway on a little rise sits a landmark that is known 100 miles in every direction,a 1935 Ford pick up that I painted black + silver years ago + is letterd up with my buisness name + phone #. I also have my AAA + state Repair + Inspection signs displayed down there. My front yard is about 4 acres that we mow + maintain.I have about 15 acres of woods that is bordered by state land the other 11 is where my business + home + 120X50 foot barn sit that I am slowly fillin up with good stuff + collectables.Way up in the deep pines + forest there is a Artesion Well that has ran for well over a Century + it runs year round with crystal clear ice cold water. Somehow in the old days it was dammed up + dug out by men as tough as this land + a Fieldstone Collector box was built then a ditch was pulled with a Horse + Plow which in time turned into a small Brook from the overflow of the Spring + Water pipe was layed in it part of the way down to the House + Barn ,the rest was buried + most of the line once out of the deep Forest was replaced then buried about 20 yrs ago. That small Brook that never freezes + runs year round + my wild Apple trees + Berry bushs attract plenty of large + small Game for hunting. My well concealed envoirmently friendly somewhat organized Junk + Storage yard take up a few acres + I move vehicles around it with one of my old Wreckers a 1961 Dodge W300 that I ran on the Hiway + back roads doin AAA + Police calls for years till the cab got to far gone for another patch job. I can honestly say I + my beautiful young wife own a little piece of heaven + have much to be thankful for.I am a lucky man
