ive got both a 74 W200 and a 76 W100,they share the same bodystyle, both have 318/727 at's,the 74 and your 72 for that matter have a divorce mtd. np205 T-case.most parts from 72-80something will interchange, and most parts are readily available, freq. for cheap!as far as this vehicle being military issue,i am under the impression that dodge started selling somewhat spec'ed out civilian model pickups to the military in about 1976,they had either 318 or 360 engines, automatics, full time 203 transfer cases, power front disc brakes, and were basically an uprated version of the civilian W200.if this truck is a civilian truck, there should be a ratings plate on the drivers side door.ive got an old dodge sales brochure here for the 1972 model power wagons, they list wheelbase as 131" for reg. cab149" for crew cab, GVWR base 6500 lb.s with opt. gvw's of 7000 and 8000 lb.s,225 /6 was the standard engine,318 or 360 v8's were options, standard tranny was a 3spd A230,optios were np 435 wide ratio 4 spd,np445 close ratio 4spd,or 3 spd auto TF727. 12.12 x 2.0 in front drums,12 x 2.5 rear drums. fuel tank standard, 25 gal. in cab behind seat, opt. 25 gal aux. under bed. hope this is of some help!
