I have seen many military (mostly airforce)utility and equip. trailers that used dual wheels and run the same 5-lug pattern wheels as our PWs. One wheel/rim has a deeper dish to give room when using (2) 9:00x16 tires.Their out there, you'll just have to find them.
In the past forums I remember that someone had stated that using duals on the front too often or continually tends to cause excessive wear on the steering knuckle kingpins and other steering components.
I would think that just using duals on the front for brief times of need would not be bad but to leave them attached and used on a continual basis would put much stess and wear on the front steering joints.
