I accept responsibility, however, I just was unaware that we weren't supposed to park them on the street, as the police were here a few weeks ago about another vehicle and never said a word to anyone. My gripe was just that there was very little time to do anything about it, thats all, and I didn't appreciate the cops attitude when I asked him, he just had the attitude of "well i'm doing you a favor" and acted very indifferent. I do realize that he could have towed the truck, or ticketed it but it still doesn't make it any easier to move a 6,000 pound truck w/o power. and i just feel there are more important things that they should be woirried about. the police over here time and time again have let robberies, theft, vandalism, assalts, (all in my neighborhood) go and don't do a thing about it , and this is a nice neighborhood. I have been through it with them on many, many occasions, and have personally stopped several robberies on our street, at the price of getting jumped by three guys(at once). Now mind you I wasn't out to stop the robberies or be a hero or anything like that, I just wanted to see what the neighbors dog was going nuts over at 2'oclock in the morning, and caught a guy breaking into the neighbors car, again. Long story short, the police accused me of doing it,(I do not know why, my long hair maybe???? maybe) or having a road rage incident, or being friends with the guys etc. and didn't believe me. Then when I told them a name one had called the other by they acted like they knew the guy and all about him, yet when I went down to look at photo's to I.D. the guy they told me to call later and they'd let me do it. well after calling and talking to the P.D. on at least 5 seperate occasions and having them give me the run around they finally tell me "you have to know they guy's name in order to look at the photo's, we can't I.D. him if you don't know his name" and at that they then refused to let me look at the photos and the crime went unsolved, and on and on. this is just ONE of my many experiences with our local fuzz. Can you see why I'm frustrated? so its not without cause that i dislike our local P.D. I mean come on, my dad is a cop. granted not all cops are jerks, but on this street he didn't make any friends. This wasn't written in anger, and I regret if I come across that way, it's not intended that way, so please, don't take offence, anyone. once again I accept full responsibility for my vehicles, and have moved them, but at the price of almost being blown up, and damage to my engine because I had to rush repairs, and that was my gripe, not enough time. Does that make sense? I hope we can all still be neighborly, and might I suggest that before we call the police on a neighbor for anything like this that we talk to them(nicely) about it first, thanks all for enduring the occasional rantings! take care, Jason
