If the mech. pump is not working (supplying 1 lb. of pressure), the redundancy doesn't count. Use a filter before and after the electric pump also, and prevent failure from the start. Just bypass the mech. pump, and keep the fuel lines away from heat sources (engine, exhaust manifold) to prevent vapor lock.
