The only problem with fitting the gear driven air compressor for a 6B/BT/BTA onto a 4B/BT/BTA is that it is the same mounting location that the power steering pump occupies. The early B series only has one gear driven port on the front for these accessories. You can install multiple units using the serpentine belt and the already provided bracket holes if the air compressor that you snag is belt driven (if you have spotted some of these, please send me an email as I'm in the market for one).

This is not a problem if you don't run with the power steering pump attached to the 4BT/BTA found on most bread vans (the pump is handy since it not only allows you to run with the Snake River power steering setup on a M37 but allows one to use the hydraulic power boosted MC found on the bread vans as well...).
