Dont be alarmed by sediment int the block. If you are really concerned you can remove the water pump and the thermostat housing, put a stream nossle on your garden hose and flush the block. First shoive it in the thermostat hole for a while then put it in the block hole until all is clear continue to move the hose back and forth from hole to hole. Do the same thing to the heater core. If a flat head runs good its gonna run good. Powerwagons are one of the most reliable designs ever made in my experience. Conversions are alot of work . also if you v8 a 1/2 ton you risk the probability of breaking axles, spider gears, and U-joints.

FLATHEADS FOREVER!!!!!!!
