I got tired of trying to find LH studs and lug nuts for my 52 IHC pickup. So I converted the LH's to RH.

Supposedly, the reason for LH is so nuts will have a tendency to tighten or at least remain tight due to the rotation direction of the wheel.

Maybe this was of importance in the old days, but with modern alloys and higher lug nut torque settings this is a thing of the past. As for older vehicles, I don't know if this is an issue or not with the ORIGINAL studs. But if you are putting in new replacements, particularly if they are not NOS but are of modern alloy, then I can't see how it is a factor.
