Can all 4 drums have right (or left) hand wheel stud threads

Regarding a 53 Flatfender, can the drums be changed to the same threaded studs on both sides and keep the stock 9.00X16 split ring wheels, eliminating the right-hand/left-hand differences, making all four drums the same wheel stud thread direction (all right or all left)? I have heard pros and cons in the past by reputable sources and would appreciate forum feedback (advice?) on this subject... imagine this... before I make the change and screw things up :) Thanks!
