Primer question

I was using a 2 part gray primer in my HVLP sprayer to put on my first primer coat. Make a long story short, I ran out of paint. I had some gray primer bomb cans, so I finished the job using those. The color is just about correct, and the paint store is closed untill next monday. Should I just go down and get a case of bomb cans and put on my second, and third coat? Time is relatively critical as it's starting to get cold and I have to paint outside as I am lacking in facilities. Another week and it may be too cold out to put on my topcoat paint, plus, since I have a little one running around, I have about a 2 hour window during the middle of the day to be able to get things done on my PW's. The bomb can primer is a rust inhibiting enamel, the paint is a Delstar 2 part acrylic enamel. Any forseable problems with using the two together? A hot rod builder told me that there really is no difference in the enamel primers except the consistency between cans, any one else agree or disagree on that? Thanks for any advice.
