'77 Power Wagon

I have a '77 Power Wagon that I am thinking about customizng. Has anyone attempted to crop the top off of a PW before? This PW is in real good shape but has no air conditioning. I live in Arkansas. Not having air conditioning in Arkansas is too hot to handle. This is a W200 long wheelbase. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
