Sitting here at lunch with nothing to do so I look in the glove box under this site's home page for the winch model designation page and by squinting real hard I'm guessing that the second digit is supposed to be drum width? But 2 makes no sense, the example is 10 for 10 inches? Maybe you have a worn out 12 for 12 inches, which might make sense for a 3 model 12 inches wide which would be a bigger winch than the MU2 found on pw's but probably too big for a suburban, and I never saw a suburban with a winch anyway. But I grew up in a shoe box though so if I never saw one it doesn't mean they don't exist. But you can look in the glove box page (linked) and see if you interpret something different. Ok back to work.
