Okey - I know the ultimate solution is to go back to the original pump, BUT
I have a 1942 WC-54. Previous owner replaced the origianl fuel pump at the engine with an electric fuel pump at the tank. When he did this, he installed a Purolator Fuel Pressure regulator after the fuel filter, before the carburetor.
I replaced the pressure regulator with a new one of the same make from J.C. Whitney when I replaced the fuel filter. It went bad in 200 miles - tear in the diaphragm - cause unknown.
I shipped it off to Purolator. They said they switched vendors for this part and have had complaints since. So they cannot provide a replacement until they get the problem worked out, but they will pay me the value of the unit plus shipping both ways. Meantime, I am using the old one which, thank the Lord, I saved.
Can anyone suggest another fuel pressure regulator suitable for an L-head 6 with a B D6G1 Carter Ball & Ball carb - the fuel pump is a NAPA unit that gives from 3.5 to 7 p.s.i. I believe
