I would consider an N series tractor for 3 acres. Lots of them out there, versitile, easy to work on and parts are always available. If you have grass then you will want a finish mower such as a Woods. If you have field mowing, then you will need a bush hog type mower. The 3pt hitch allows you to use 400+ attachments including a back blade and scoop for that gravel driveway.
N's can be had for $1500-$3000 depending on condition.
