I'm "into" single shot rifles (mainly Winchester 1885's) and lever actions of the Old West.

And yes, early S&W's are the peak of American craftsmanship. I have a S&W Triple Lock Target in 44 Special made in 1912. It is probably THE finest handgun made in the US. A close second is my S&W 357 "Registered Magnum" made in 1936, of which all were special order and cost a whooping $65 in Depression dollars.

It's the same way with older trucks, particularly from the late 1930's up until the early to mid 1960's. The WDX et al is the peak of 4x4 trucks. fit, finish, design are second to none.
