PTO,s are not interchangeable. A pto has to match a transmission. Although the six bolt pattern is the same the input gear to the pto must be of the correct pitch. Gear pitch is like the number of threads per inch on a bolt. Just like you cant screw a metric nut onto a standard bolt, a gear of one pitch will not mesh properly with a gear of another pitch. Gear teeth are designed such that the contact between gear teeth is a rolling contact, much like a ball bearing. If you have a pto off one transmission it will not work on different transmission without destroying the gears. If you call your local pto dealer such as Six States or Hafers they can explain this to you.
