That does not sound like an original PTO. My 52 has the shift lever just to the left of the gear shift through the existing slot in the floor. The shift lever mounts directly to the PTO and not the transmission. If you can find numbers or anmes on the PTO someone on this forum and help. A good person for this would be DC, but he needs numbers to be able to identify your PTO.
