PWs were made for lead-work, or no work :) There are very few cars & trucks left with the thickness in the panels necessary for lead work (40s/50's or earlier). The art is harbored by a cherished few. It takes a much different set of skills than "choke" Bondo filler (which is guaranteed to crack off or decay over time), and takes no skill. I think Eastwood still carries the necessary "kit" to get started (lead rods, solder flux, file, & paddles) or you can make your own file & set of hardwood paddles. An acetylene torch is a must-have. I think everyone should try lead-work, at least once. Just have a large metal tray on the floor under your doors the first few times to catch the lead as it rolls off... until you get the chemistry down. Take the doors off and lay them on a (metal) table for your first project to avoid having 20lbs of lead splattered on the floor ;) Once you "get it" you will never raise the plastic dust again! Good Luck!
