Not all viruses use email to gain access to your computer. There are a number of ways to get access to your computer including open ports that you are not aware that you have and your ISP could care less about. There is also new technology emerging that uses a contaminated web site. You only have to hit the web site in order to get the virus. High quality antivirus software installed locally in combination with a good solid PROPERLY CONFIGURED firewall is the only way to be 99% sure that you are protected. The only way to be 100% sure is to disconnect your computer from the Internet and never insert a disk into it.
