Bob, something sounds fishy here! I wonder if maybe the front of the 6x6 got swapped with a 1/2 tonner somewhere, as I think only the 1/2 tonners had removeable covers. That design went with the smaller ring gear, as far as I know. My 6x6 front axel cover was not removable. The steering knuckle assemble on the 1/2 ton axel is also smaller than on the WDX, so that might help you sort it out. Maybe this also part of the phase out of the smaller ring gear setup? Rob
