I don't need a picture. Pre generator truck engines would be 1963 or earlier. Trucks began receiving alternators in 1964.
The first 318A was a Poly ( semi-Hemi) not to be confused with the 318LA wedge 1967 and later. Again, as stated in the first post, it is not a wider block, the heads are wider, people started calling them wide blocks out of ignorance because they looked wider, but it is the heads that are big, NOT the block. Maybe they couldn't pronounce Polyspherical, but whatever the reason, the "wide block" tag is a misnomer. Start calling it a Poly, that is what it is! Hemi combustion chambers with only one rocker shaft, and a saw toothed lower edge on the valve cover. Many claim (me included) that it is the best breathing Mopar motor. These can be built to produce over 400 HP and 450 lbs. ft. of torque.
