Just wanted to drop a line and let you all know I didn't die or anything! I've been reading the forum when I have a chance. I've been very busy with my '58 W200. painting, cleaning, etc. I greatly appreciate all the support you guys have given me. It has been invaluable. I got the engine running on the '58 W200. I just need some freeze plugs, anyone know what diameter freeze plugs are "supposed" to be used on a wide block 318 c.i. engine?(year unknown) The opening measures 1 and 3/4" across, but then has a drop down and then theres the access hole measuring 1 and 1/4". The stupid guys at Auto Zone insisted they didn't have one for it(and told me i'd have to go to the dealer! Uh.......der!) but right there in the tray was a 1 and 3/4 freeze plug(along with the 1 and 1/4"). the drop down is a little less than a quarter of an inch but i think its meant to handle a (brass or steel)freeze plug. I had to settle for the crappy rubber kind and they wouldn't even hold the anti-freeze without the engine running! I just couldn't get it tight enough on the drivers side. any suggestions? Thank you all

Jason Lewis
