I've had some rims powder coated by a big industrial facility, and they blast with black beauty to get a good tooth, then prep and oven dry like Moparnorm said. It stands up well, unless you drag it over asphalt, which will scratch it, and I had a couple of small chips putting the lock rings on. What I notice is that it won't wick in between the rims and disk, so I see some rust weeping out from there. POR-15 seems to suck into spaces like that very well, so I lean toward POR-15 on rims now, though silver powder coat on lock rings is great! Rob
