Por-15 is great for rusted parts but I'm not sold on it for a finished product. I have had powder coated (American Racing Wheels) wheels that have lasted for years, per the other posts, powder coating,...when done properly, will NOT rust or come off. STAY AWAY from shops that sandblast, that is where the oxidation is coming from, a good shop will MEDIA blast, then dip the parts into a cleaning solution, then air and heat dry the parts before starting the powder coating process. Powder coating that rusts or flakes off was improperly applied by a poor quality shop. I have powder coated lumber racks and tool boxes on my company trucks that have outlived 4 trucks since they were first coated in 1975! Powder coating will dull over time but if properly cared for it will outlast several paint jobs.
