Jason, cotter pins are very soft material. I have had to just crank nuts off, shearing the cotter, on a few occasions because they were rusted solid, ect. It isn't great for the threads, but is an option. Usually the drift pin will drive the remaining part through. You've got patience, man. Keep at it, we're all pulling with you! Rob
