One more thought, did you remove the ignition switch at all?? I put a new ignition switch in my '58 PW and when I turned the key to the on position it started cranking and wouldn't stop so I messed with a few wire positions on the switch and presto! the key had power in the on position but didn't crank until in the start position! problem solved. check your ground and hot(+) wire at the coil, make SURE that they're connected to the right terminals its easy to mix them up if it's dark or greasy or........ i would bet it's something simple like that, it almost always is. so think simple, retrace and give me more info. such as did you install a new wiring harness?? new voltage reg? or gen. reg also did you say it runs?? i can't backtrack on this followup so i'm trying to remember what all you said! let me know and i'll keep helping you until you get it solved. Jason
