Had the same problem several years ago (1974). The pressure line to the gauge was stopped up. Disconnected line at gauge and no oil would run out. I stuck a toothpick into the line and presto oil everywhere. Shut off engine and reconnected line to gauge and had 40 pounds at idle even when hot. Wrote an article about this "adventure" for the Power Wagon Advertiser several years ago. You might want to check the line if engine runs smooth and does not knock. It's a lot cheaper than bearings.
