It is normal in a well aged engine for the oil pressure to drop to 15 psi or so while hot at idle.
If it's getting down to near zero then it sound like it's time for a rebuild. Probably the rod and main bearings are worn. Another possibility is a worn oil pump. These can be changed easily. Since it is smart to change the oil pump during the rebuild, you might as well try that first and see if it helps. Available through many parts sources including VPW.
