painting question

OK, I need some advise. I am restoring a 57 flat fender , and she is now back to a running and rolling chassis.Im starting on the body now and my question is , should I take the rods out of the hood and prime and paint every panel seperately. Thats what im thinking ,but is that correct or will I play heck putting it back together?Thanks for the help.
