Hey Johny, I think it sounds like you have a cool truck. Don't let the rest of these guys get to you. I am unfamiliar with the Ford trucks, so if you could answer a few questions, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
1. Are you running Mechanics yokes to your driveshafts, or did you choose to go with the Detroit style?
2. Do you still have Tracta joints for the front axle shafts within your steering knuckles, or did you step up to the Rzeppa style for increased durability?
3. Do those air lockers install easily within the differential case, and do they retain the original four-pinion design? Why did you choose that set up over the All-Trac Automatic Positive Locking Differential?
4. Do you have the HD Dana/Spicer 70 axle assemblies, or the tried and true corporate rearends?
5. Which are you running, the 6 or 8 stud hubs?
6. 38" Boggers? Are those on Budd 19.5" tubless or 20" "split" rims? Those tires are 10-ply right? Whateffect, if any, do running doubled up crossbar tire chains with ice cleats have on their sidewalls?
7. Do you use the factory Budd tire wrench to loosen your lug nuts, or do you carry a 1-1/2" socket and 3/4" long handled breaker bar instead?
8. Does your driver's side PTO turn at 61-1/2% of engine speed when rotating engine-wise and 47-1/2% when rotating counter engine-wise, or is yours the other way around? Did you install a Pto on the passenger side of the transmission also? Or, did you choose the advantage of gear multiplication and sacrifice dual rotation by going to a NP201 transfer case with mounted PTO?
9. What lubricant do you use in the worm case of your winch?
10. Are you still running 250' of 7/16" winch cable, or have you stepped up a size to 1/2" in order to gain extra strength? What size of shear pin do you use? Tensile strength?
11. Does you snatch block have a 6" or an 8" diameter sheave?
12. Did you choose: Right Lay Regular Lay, Left Lay Regular Lay, Right Lay Lang Lay, or Left Lay Lang Lay for the strands on your winch cable? Are you running rope core or wire core?
13. what lubricant do you use at the grease fitting on your water pump? How about the other 42 grease fittings on the chassis and drivetrain?
14. Do you adjust your tappets hot or cold?
15. Why did you change out the 5.83:1 gearing in favor of the 4.56:1 ratio?
16. Does the rear PTO drive use a standard Ford Tractor belt pulley, or are the ones for the trucks different?
17. Do you have the "split main" spring leaves with grease grooves?
18. Do you carry a bicycle pump to change tires on your split rims?
19. What does "F.O.R.D." stand for? Is that short for "Fargo"?
20. Is your last name "Reb"? I think that we have met before. Mine is "Yank".
