This post might be a little late but how long has your truck been sitting and o the drums turn? Your brake shoes could be rusted to the drum if you just pulled this from the field. Loosen the brake shoes if you can.
If you use heat parafin wax will melt and flow better into the rust and cracks than any store product. Using a liquid wrench type product, heating it, and breathing the fumes can kill you.
