Try to install a good, heavy puller on the drum, tighten it up good but don't overdo it. Now, get the biggest hammer that you can find and carefully tap the drum all around the drum to try to loosen up the drum a bit. Next, use the big hammer to carefully tap on the head of the puller bolt. Don't get carried away with hard whacks, you'll just break something.

The bigger the hammer, the better this works for some reason. From the laws of physics, a little hammer swung fast can exert the same force as a large hammer swung slow, but I have always found the bigger hammer will get the job done while the little hammer just peens over what it's hitting. Just don't get frustrated and start whacking away, you'll just make the job many times more difficult.

You are on the right track by asking for advice on this Forum, there are a lot of real mechanics here that teach us all how to do things right. I learn something new and useful here every time I read this Forum, so many thanks for the help from all who input here.
