There is no value other than sentimental to a 1974 truck, look at the classifed adds, $2000 at most if it was low milage and stock. You might sell it and donate the money to mad in honor of your brother. Just drive it and enjoy the memories you and your brother shared before his untimely death. If you feel you must restore do it under the rule, for every $1.oo you spend you will lose at least65 cents if you can find a buyer. If you spend $8ooo on it it still will not bring over$3500 normally. All the trucks in the phot adds here are not a good representation as they only reflect asking prices, often what really happens is reality when buyer meets seller and the check is written, of course sometimes a home run is hit and everyone thinks they can hit one too. Its human nature. A lot depends on the model, 1974 is not a classic, if you have a 4 door crew cab short bed with 440 or something out of the ordinary there are exceptions. Why dont you ask what it is worth by posting a pic and spec and ask for best offer? Then you will see what the buyer is willing to pay. Good luck!!!!!
